How To Truly Have Fun

Having fun is great, but it’s sad how so many people don’t seem to know how to actually do it. It’s almost like the very concept of fun eludes them, which leads to some incredibly awkward attempts. Then again, even those who are more in tune with their wild side can still get tangled up in the details, so it’s worth looking into the ways that you can truly have fun.

Don’t Think, Just Act

funAlthough thinking before acting is great most of the time, if that’s exactly what’s holding you back from having fun, then perhaps it’s best to not think at all. By its very nature, fun is all about being spontaneous and the less you plan the better. If you think too much, you start second-guessing yourself and the rational part of your mind will take over. How about you start listening to your heart for once?

Avoid Spending Money

Believe it or not, you can actually have fun without spending a dime. You can go to a lake with your friends and dive in with your clothes still on. You could go on a hike with a group or alone if you have never done so. Even something as simple as going over to neighbour’s party can lead to some really exciting experiences if you just give it a chance.

The reason for avoiding spending money is to reduce the chances of regret. If you spend nothing, all you risk is your time. Of course, depending on your activity, you could also be risking your dignity but we can talk about that another time.

Finally, if you truly want to have fun, it’s best if you get to know yourself a little better. What better way to do that than a little meditation? You can do this either by following traditional rules or just sitting on a chair and asking yourself some questions. The important thing is to do a little introspection and get in touch with what you really want out of life. More importantly, you need to ask yourself what your idea of fun is.
